Dr. Marc Braithwaite has spent his first 6 years in private practice and the last 5 years practicing at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital. In addition to general optometry, he specializes in the fitting of medically necessary contact lenses.
Dr. Braithwaite was born and raised in Orem, Utah the 6th of 10 children. After graduating high school, he served for 2 years as a proselyting missionary for his church in South Korea.
Upon returning from South Korea, Dr. Braithwaite entered Brigham Young University. He graduated with a bachelor of science in zoology and was then accepted to attend the Southern California College of Optometry from which he graduated in 1997. He is now an adjunct professor of optometry at the New England College of Optometry.
He moved to Illinois where he managed a multi-physician practice before deciding to move to Maryland and accept a position at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital. While at Johns Hopkins he began working on an MBA degree.
