Yes. Some clinics may offer a complimentary LASIK consultation but have the awareness they may also require you to pay $100 or more to meet with a LASIK doctor, for a "full comprehensive" eye exam. At Vison Care of Maine the Comprehensive LASIK Assssement is Free, and have been conveniently joined into one appointment. After the exam you'll know if you're a good candidate for LASIK eye surgery, and at no cost or obligation. After your consultation you can make an informed decision whether or not to continue with your LASIK procedure.
Your Consult Will Include:
- Thorough Ocular and Medical History Taken, as it Relates to Laser Vision Correction
- Multiple Refractive Readings Utilizing the Marco Epic System
- Past Spectacle Measurement
- Auto Refraction
- Topography Measured with the Zeiss Topographer
- Multiple Pupil Measurements, to Help Tailor Treatment Plan
- Anterior Segment Exam
- Counseling and Explanation by the Doctors and Medical Team Regarding Advanced Treatment Methods
Plan on being with our medical team for approximately 90 minutes, due to the meticulousness of this examination.
After the consult, if it is determined that you are a candidate and you feel the procedure is in you best interest, you will then go forward to a the evaluation and surgical process. The Evaluation is a thorough eye examination and testing is not free but the cost is deducted from your surgery. Ask your LASIK representative for details.
